Between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour’s upcoming changes, there is a lot of change happening around the world of golf.

A lot of golf purists are pushing back against the way the game is evolving.

Paige Spiranac is not one of them.

The golf social media influencer took to Twitter on Wednesday to say that the game needs to evolve and critics need to get on board.

“We constantly talk about growing the game of golf then ***** when actual change happens,” Spiranac tweeted. “You can’t grow doing the same exact thing. Change has to happen. Some things will work, some won’t but you have to try new things.”

Her tweet garnered a lot of supportive responses.

“Progress not perfection,” said another.

“We live in a society now where everyone wants change then criticizes everything that changes. It’s wild. Also, everyone thinks they have the best ideas so they criticize others,” another user tweeted.

“Let’s be clear – ‘growing the game’ doesn’t mean making pro golfers richer, or making sports gambling concerns (like the one that sponsors Paige) richer. It means expanding the footprint of the recreational game by increasing access, inclusion, and participation,” another fan commented.

The PGA Tour recently announced that it would reduce the size of fields for designated events and also eliminate 36-hole cuts starting in the 2024 season.
