Quarterback Arch Manning 16 runs the ball as Newman takes on Lafayette Christian Academy in the LHSAA Div III semi finals. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021. Arch Manning Lca Vs Newman Football 4731

Where will Arch Manning play college football? That’s the question on a lot of football recruiting people’s minds. And while his list of potential schools seems to change every few weeks, it sounds like there are a handful of programs that find themselves in the driver’s seat for the heir apparent quarterback of the Manning dynasty.

In January, On3 reported that Manning was favoring five schools, the Texas LonghornsGeorgia BulldogsAlabama Crimson TideOle Miss Rebels, and Clemson Tigers. Then, in February, Steve Wiltfong at 24/7 is reported that Manning trimmed that list down to four schools (Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas). But then a couple of weeks later,  Arch’s father Cooper told 247Sports that the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers are also in the mix.

The latest report, this time from Wiltfong, is that while there are six teams in the mix for Manning, three of them are the ones that have “high interest” from the Class of 2023 QB.

“Well, there’s six teams in play for Arch Manning, who’s going to round out his basketball season,” Wiltfong said. “And then after that, we expect him to hit the road and see some schools again.

“As he continues to be diligent with this process, the schools, of course, that are in the mix are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas. I think that Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, particularly, have done a really good job with Arch, who has high interest in all the schools I mentioned. LSU’s making a later move here under the new coaching staff, and the same goes for Florida, and I think he wants to give those programs a good look. He’s intrigued by them.”

Wiltfong noted that Ole Miss has put the full-court press on in recent weeks, and we know that Lane Kiffin has been a big fan for a while. Considering it would give Arch the chance to follow in the footsteps of dad Cooper and uncle Eli, it’s hard to discount the Rebels just yet.

Arch is expected to make a decision over the summer after making more school visits. The rising senior at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans has thrown for 6,307 yards with 81 touchdown passes and 19 rushing touchdowns so far.
