A high school basketball team in Connecticut was harassed by the manager of a Wendy’s, who allegedly hurled racial slurs, denied them service, and was later arrested, according to police.

WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut reported on the shocking and disgusting details on Friday. The incident involved the Woodstock Academy basketball team and a Wendy’s in Plainfield, Connecticut. The manager was later arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace.

The report from WTNH read, “The incident began around 10 p.m. Thursday when dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a verbal argument and refusal of service at the fast food chain’s location on Pratt Road. Officers spoke with several members of the basketball team, who claimed they were refused service and were being called racial slurs by the manager, identified by police as 22-year-old Brett White from Canterbury.”

Coaches Donte Adams and Denzel Washington were specifically cited by Woodstock Academy as targets, according to the report.

The manager later would admit to police that he used racial slurs according to the report, as well. “White was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 21,” the report also read on his current status. The company that owns the Wendy’s in Plainfield also terminated his contract.

WTNH also said the school held a meeting on Friday and offered to counsel those who were affected.
