After exiting last night’s game with left-side tightness, Adolis García is not in the Texas Rangers lineup for Game 4 of the 2023 World Series. The Rangers who lead the series over the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 will be without their star slugger, who made history in Game 1.
García’s walk-off opposite-field solo shot gave him 22 RBIs this October. He officially eclipsed David Freese’s mark of 21 RBIs during the St. Louis Cardinals’ World Series run in 2011, and now has the most RBIs in a single postseason in AL/NL history.
As the Rangers look to increase their lead and get one game away from clinching a World Series title, they’ll have to do so without García.
According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, García walked through the clubhouse carrying a bat; and said all was good.

However, he is not in the lineup due to a moderate strain of the oblique, reports Kennedi Landry, the Rangers beat reporter for MLB.com. Landry said that while García took swings and is getting treatment, it doesn’t sound like the Texas Rangers’ slugger will be available Tuesday. While the Rangers will wait to make a call, manager Bruce Bochy added that, “It’s not great news.”

One of the most impactful performers in playoff history is hurt. This is 24 hours after losing 2 pitchers to injuries… Yet they're in the World Series.
We're very lucky or very unlucky, depending on your perspective. But we win this EASILY with a healthy Degrom/Scherzer. https://t.co/6fxS3NS4gH

Took an MRI last night. I hope it was all good and they're just resting him. This isn't a must win game so if it was going to happen, glad it was last night. Get well El Bombi.

That’s going to hurt, but the Texas Rangers are resilient and their road warriors go rangers go

Journeyman outfielder Travis Jankowski, who is known for his defense and his speed, will start in right field instead.
