Former United States President Barack Obama has made it well known over the years that he is a Chicago sports fan and he is a prominent supporter of the Chicago White Sox. But that didn’t stop him from offering his congratulations to the Texas Rangers when they won their first World Series Championship in club history earlier this week.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Cardinals in five games this week to clinch their first championship, and former president Barack Obama was quick to offer his congratulations after the big win.

“Congrats to the @Rangers on their first World Series title!” Obama said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly know as Twitter.

Obama is a well-known sports fan, supporting various Chicago teams including the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox. But as this message shows, he’s a fan of more than just his local team – he’s a supporter of the sport at large.

It’s not exactly shocking to see him rush to congratulate the Rangers as he was always quick to invite teams to celebrate their championships in the White House during his time in office as president.
