You can make history any day of the week in Major League Baseball. Fear not if you think otherwise because the Postseason is no different. The Division Series is underway, and one former multi-time All-Star just made history. Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager exhibited patience at the plate. That’s underselling it because he set a single-game Postseason record for most walks in a game.

Seager drew five walks in a rout the Rangers piled on the top-seeded Baltimore Orioles. His prolific BB total set a new standard for the MLB Postseason, another accolade in the shortstop’s belt. Seager’s won a World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2020) and Rookie of the Year (2016). Now, he’s made an indelible mark on the game.

“Corey Seager is the 1st player in MLB history to walk five times in a playoff game,” ESPN Stats & Info boasted.

The Rangers went up 2-0 on the Orioles after their dominant performance Sunday afternoon. Oriole Park at Camden Yards didn’t play kindly to its home dwellers. The Rangers went into Charm City and left victorious each time. That series now swings back to Texas, where the Orioles face elimination. They will somehow have to rattle off three consecutive wins now if they want to advance to the ALCS.

The MLB world had plenty to say about Corey Seager and his historically prodigious day at the plate.
