Cox vs. Junk A Minor League Baseball game on Thursday has an epic pitching matchup, Austin Cox against Janson Junk. Baseball fans enjoyed it.

The Omaha Storm Chasers and Nashville Sounds, Triple-A affiliates of the Kansas City Royals and Milwaukee Brewers, are playing on Thursday. And the starting pitching matchup is something to behold.

Starting the game for Omaha is the 26-year-old Southpaw, the 6-foot-4 235-pounder, Austin Cox.

Meanwhile, toeing the rubber for Nashville is a 27-year-old right-hander, the 6-foot-2, 202-pounder, Janson Junk.

So, as the Storm Chasers tweeted out, those going to the game will see Cox against Junk live and in person.

Minor League teams often have some unique ticket packages as a way to draw fans to the stadium. This, though, takes that to a new level.

To the surprise of, well, absolutely nobody, this matchup inspired a lot of laughter. Also unsurprisingly, baseball fans had some jokes for the occasion.

We hope that these two settle in quickly and pitch a good game. The last thing we’d want to see in this game is an offensive explosion of any kind.

And if anyone is at this game, please take a lot of pictures. Just don’t send them to anyone unsolicited.
