One of the most entertaining parts of fantasy football is coming up with a punishment that the owner of the last-place team will have to suffer for, usually involving some sort of public humiliation. Generally, it’s something like having to stand on the street with a funny poster or wearing a funny outfit in a public place, but it’s certainly not often that there’s a punishment that actually makes people jealous.

However, for San Francisco Giants broadcaster Dave Flemming, the assigned punishment seemed like something any number of people would gladly take part in.

Flemming finished in last place in his fantasy league and had to be the Giants’ batboy for a few innings of Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Flemming was in good spirits about the “punishment” as he checked in with Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow between innings, saying he would be icing down later before arriving back in the Giants radio booth in the fourth inning.

As the clips gained traction, everyone arrived at the same conclusion: This isn’t a punishment at all.

Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz weighed in, saying, “How is this a punishment?”, and Pac-12 Network broadcaster Ben Creighton shared that sentiment.

Another fan said he would dream of finishing last to take this “punishment”.

One fan even asked his team, the Boston Red Sox, if he could do this for his fantasy punishment.
