A fan apparently fell out of the right-center field bleachers onto the warning track before the Cubs-Braves game on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
Other fans and journalists at the park tweeted that the fan looked like he was “not moving” and “out cold”:
Oh no. Someone fell out of the bleachers. He’s not moving.

Horrifying sight at Wrigley Field. A fan just fell on the field from the right field wall. Laying on the warning track. Hasn’t moved. #Cubs

Brett Lyons, a producer at CSN Chicago and 670 The Score, tweeted that the fan appeared to be slightly moving after a few minutes:

The fan was put onto a stretcher and carted off:

There is a basket that goes across the top of the outfield wall at Wrigley Field, and it’s hard to understand how someone would fall from the bleachers over this:
How is this even possible? https://t.co/lYfyC7JI8G — Julie DiCaro (@JulieDiCaro) July 8, 2016
The incident happened when the Cubs and Braves were supposed to be playing. The game is in a rain delay, and is a makeup game for a game that was rained out earlier in the season.
We’ll let you more about the fan if more information becomes available.
UPDATE: The fan was “severely injured”, and the Cubs say the fan “attempted to jump”, rarely than simply falling.
Cubs say the fan severely injured “attempted to jump” onto field from bleachers, taken to Illinois Masonic. No further comment.
