Longtime Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona missed Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals after feeling ill.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that the 64-year-old Francona was set to undergo “precautionary testing” at a Kansas City hospital.
Francona has faced a number of health issues in recent years. He suffered a life-threatening pulmonary embolism in 2002, and was hospitalized in 2005 after complaining of severe chest pains. He’s also dealt with a blood-clotting issue for many years.
A three-time AL Manager of the Year, Francona has led the Guardians since 2013. The former MLB player served previous stints as manager with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Boston Red Sox, who he led to World Series titles in 2004 and 2007.

When I was a kid, I got to watch him play with the Expos. One of my favorite players… I hope he feels better soon
