Minor League Baseball brawl.

A video of an insane brawl between the Single-A Affiliates of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies caught the attention of the baseball world on Monday night.

The brawl, like most baseball brawls, was caused by a hit batter. Tampa Tarpons pitcher Alex Bustamante hit Clearwater Threshers’ infielder Erick Brito which caused both benches to clear.

You would assume that one of the players involved in the play would have caused the fight. However, it was Threshers manager Marty Malloy that actually started the altercation.

He approached home plate where Tarpons pitching coach Gerardo Casadiego was talking to a player and proceeded to punch him in the head. Casadiego then punched a Threshers player in the area, and all chaos ensued.

Many more punches were thrown by both sides, and one player was even tackled and punched repeatedly. It was absolute mayhem, and many around the MLB world took to social media to discuss the wild incident.

Most brawls in baseball have some pushing and shoving and things typically blow over pretty quickly. This is the exception as nearly every player and manager on both sides was actively involved in the altercation.

Multiple ejections were ultimately issued following this altercation, but there could certainly be more punishments handed down to a number of participants in this brawl.
