There certainly aren’t many people picking the Cincinnati Reds to win the upcoming 2023 World Series, but Reds star first baseman Joey Votto is one of the very few making that prediction – along with another extremely bizarre prediction to go along with it.

On Monday, the MLB’s official Instagram account asked its followers to comment with their “boldest” National League Central predictions for the upcoming baseball season. And it’s safe to say that the prediction from Joey Votto was the boldest of them all.

“Extra terrestrials arrive on earth, April 15th,” Votto wrote in the comments. “The 12-2 Reds and the rest of the planet learn from, communicate with, and befriend our alien friends. This process takes 5 months. Play resumes in October. The Reds sweep the playoffs and are World Series champs.”

“Side note: the aliens ask if I would like to accompany them on their ship back to their (planet). I oblige. Never to be seen again,” Votto added to the end of his comment.

The MLB world will undoubtedly be eagerly awaiting to see if this prediction comes true. After all, it’s probably the only way the Reds have a chance of winning the World Series title this year.
