The Washington Nationals have reached an agreement with a former NLCS MVP.
Outfielder Eddie Rosario, who won the 2021 NLCS MVP with the Atlanta Braves, agreed to a one-year deal with the Nats on Wednesday.
Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase had the news first.
The Washington #Nationals are in agreement with OF Eddie Rosario. It is a split contract in which he could earn up to $4M with incentives. The deal is pending a physical, sources tell @ElExtrabase.

As Álvarez-Montes notes, the one-year contract is worth up to $4 million after factoring in incentives.
Rosario made his major league debut in May 2015 with the Minnesota Twins. He became the sixth Twin in history to hit a home run in his first major league at-bat.
Rosario also led the major leagues in triples in the 2015 season with 15. This made him the first Twin since 2000 to hit 15 or more triples in a single season.
He remained with the team through 2020 and hit a respectable .266 with 119 home runs in the first six seasons of his career, all spent in Minnesota. His defense was an issue, though, leading the AL in errors by a left fielder three times with Minnesota, committing at least four errors per season with the high mark coming in 2018 with eight.
The Twins non-tendered Rosario after the 2020 season. He signed a one-year deal with the then-Cleveland Indians, who dealt him to the Atlanta Braves at the 2021 trade deadline.
Rosario wound up as one of the Braves’ most important pieces in their 2021 World Series win. He became the fifth player in MLB history to have multiple four-hit games in the same playoff series when he did it in Games 2 and 4 of the Braves NLCS victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He would go on to be named 2021 NLCS MVP and would win the World Series with the Braves.
After missing over half of the 2022 season with an injury, Rosario returned strong in 2023 for the Braves, hitting .255 and mashing 21 home runs.
