The Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs will participate in this year’s edition of Major League Baseball‘s Field of Dreams game, and it looks like the clubs will look the part when they take the field on Thursday with both teams revealing throwback uniforms on Monday.
Both the Reds and Cubs will wear classic uniforms for the game in the cornfields of Dyersville, Iowa – where the iconic baseball movie “Field of Dreams” took place. The throwback uniforms are inspired by what both franchises wore in the early 1900s.
The Reds uniform is a throwback to the team’s 1919 season when the team won its first World Series over the Chicago White Sox. Cincinnati will wear a white jersey with dark blue pinstripes featuring a red “C” logo over their left breast, similar to the team’s current logo. The Reds will also have a red “C” logo on their hats and batting helmets, written in a classic script font.

The Cubs, meanwhile, will wear a white jersey with a red “C” over the left breast featuring a blue bear in the middle of the logo. The team will wear blue hats and batting helmets featuring the same bear logo but in white.

This will be the MLB’s second Field of Dreams game as the league begins a new tradition. The Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees in the first edition of the game last year. The teams combined for six runs in the ninth inning as the White Sox won 9-8.
This year’s game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and broadcast on FOX.
