On Tuesday night, it was a bit shocking that New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone didn’t get ejected from the team’s Subway Series game against the Mets. Boone, who already has four ejections on the season, has often argued balls and strikes and Tuesday night would’ve been no exception as umpire Rob Drake had a rather controversial strike zone.

As highlighted by the Twitter account Umpire Scorecards, which rates each home plate umpire’s performance after every Major League Baseball Game, Rob Drake had a rough performance behind home plate on Tuesday night.

According to Umpire Scorecards, Drake was just 87 percent accurate and 91 percent consistent during Tuesday night’s game, which is well below the league average in both categories and 4.5% below what would be expected in terms of accuracy. He also called just 80% of called strikes correctly, compared to the league average of 88%.

As a result of his poor performance, Umpire Scorecards estimates that the Mets benefitted about o.73 runs in the game. Though, the Mets were on the wrong end of Drake’s most impactful missed call. In a 2-2 count with runners on first and second, Starling Marte took a called strike three to end a Mets scoring threat in the bottom of the sixth inning. That pitch, according to Umpire Scorecards, should’ve been a ball.

According to Umpire Auditor, Drake called the fifth worst game of the season.

It was a less-than-stellar performance from the umpire, and those in the world of Major League Baseball world had plenty to say about it on social media:
