The Savannah Bananas made history on Saturday night, playing in a Major League stadium for the first time in their history. And those who headed to Houston’s Minute Maid Park got an extra treat — MLB legend Roger Clemens.

Clemens, an 11-time All-Star who pitched with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and the hometown Houston Astros (winning at least one Cy Young with each and seven total), took the mound for the Bananas in the second inning.

As would be expected, the 61-year-old Clemens was met with a lot of cheers when he came out of the dugout.

Baseball fans loved seeing The Rocket back on the mound.

Clemens was also grateful for the opportunity, responding to the tweet with, “Thank you.”

Clemens was also not the only MLB legend to toe the rubber for the Bananas in Houston. Later in the game, Roy Oswalt took the mound.

And while Saturday night at Minute Maid Park might have marked the Bananas first time at a Major League Stadium, it will not be their last. Savannah has five more games scheduled at MLB parks this year including June 8 at Boston’s Fenway Park, July 13 at Washington’s Nationals Park, August 10 at Cleveland’s Progressive Field, September 21 at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park and October 12 at Miami’s loanDepot park.
