The Kansas City Royals pulled off a surprising series sweep of the Houston Astros on Thursday. Kansas City has been doing nothing but win lately, a change of pace from the usual. And by contrast, the Astros have done nothing but lose lately, which is also an unusual change of pace.
Witt Jr. and the Royals completed a sweep of the Astros in epic fashion on Thursday. KC trounced Houston for a whopping nine runs in the first inning and went on to win 13-3.
The dynamic Royals shortstop was pivotal in the victory. Witt Jr. went 4-for-5 with two home runs. That included a blast late in the game to salt the game away that brought Royals fans to their feet.

Witt Jr. also got involved in a wild play earlier in the day. He collided with a fellow Royals infielder but still managed to make the throw to first anyway!
