Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has not exactly been a good luck charm for the Houston Astros this year as the team has been 0-4 this postseason when he is in attendance for the games. But he’s not letting that keep him away from the team’s Game 7 matchup against the Texas Rangers in the ALCS.

A spokesperson for Ted Cruz confirmed to Rolling Stone that the Senator will be in attendance for Monday night’s game when the Astros take on the Rangers with a World Series appearance on the line. And despite the team’s brutal record with Cruz in attendance, his spokesperson insists that Cruz has a “legendary record” while supporting the Astros.

“No one calls them the ‘Astros.’ Go Stros. Senator Cruz has a legendary record supporting the Stros in their biggest victories, including when he cheered the Stros on to victory on June 3, 1989, which was one of the longest baseball games in history,” the spokesperson wrote. “But go ahead, write a hit piece on Senator Cruz spending time with his young daughter cheering on their hometown heroes.”

We’ll have to see how the Astros fare in this Game 7 against the Rangers with Cruz in attendance on Monday night.
