Texas Rangers star third baseman Adrian Beltre had a terrific night at the dish on Monday at Globe Life Park in Arlington, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two walks in the Rangers’ 5-2 win over the A’s.

The big night at the plate meant a postgame interview for Beltre, and the postgame interview usually means a Gatorade bath. And it seems that, to Beltre, a Gatorade bath is basically equivalent to what being thrown into a room full of spiders is like for the rest of us.

Beltre was doing an interview with Fox Sports Southwest reporter Emily Jones, when he saw teammates Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor approaching with Gatorade jugs. Beltre cut off his interview so that he could run away from his teammates, and grabbed a broom to try to fight them off. He even got some maintenance work in by sweeping the mound!

After a minute of running around, the classy Beltre returned to finish his interview… before then running away again.

Here’s video of the hilarious scene:

Emily Jones put it well: “How can you not love Adrian Beltre?”
