Coco Crisp had one of the more weird ejections you will see on a Major League Baseball field.

Crisp tossed his bat at the feet of home plate umpire D.J. Reyburn, along with his helmet, and then walked straight into the dugout. This came after Crisp was called out on strikes in the fifth inning against the Houston Astros and Doug Fister.

Crisp didn’t look back at Reyburn once, but Bob Melvin was quick to run out and defend his outfielder.

Melvin was certainly more animated than Crisp was in the whole ordeal, and was quick to get to home plate to defend him. Melvin was not ejected for his discussion with Reyburn.

Crisp has been playing well as of late. He was riding a 12-game hitting streak, but that would be snapped with no hits in three at-bats.

One thing is for sure, the 36-year-old vet knows how to get ejected from a game without showing any concern.
