As the New York Yankees continue to struggle through August, the team has made a series of moves focused on the future.
On Monday, The Athletic’s Brandon Kuty tweeted that the Yankees were calling up Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza, which is exciting news for Yankee fans who have been looking forward to the future following this lost season.
However, that wasn’t the only news, as Kuty also reported that Yankees’ top prospect Jasson Dominguez was being called up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza going to the Yankees, Jasson Dominguez will be heading to Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Pereira, primarily a centerfielder, has put together an impressive season across Double and Triple-A, playing 46 games with Double-A Somerset to start the year, hitting .291 with ten home runs. His numbers got even better in his 35 games in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, hitting .312 with eight home runs.
Peraza has bounced back and forth between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and New York multiple times this season and is hitting just .173 in 19 games at the big league level, however, the shortstop had an exceptional start to his career last season when he was called up late in the season and hit .306 in 18 games.
Perhaps the most significant announcement of the three, though, was that of Dominguez’s promotion. The outfielder hit 15 home runs at Double-A Somerset this season, and a promotion to Triple-A means that it’s entirely possible that Yankee fans will see the phenomenal young player on the team’s opening-day roster next season.
