Brandon Miller wants to set the record straight.

He was not misquoted, or taken out of context Wednesday when his comment set Twitter on fire.

He really does believe Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is the NBA’s GOAT.

Not LeBron James. Not Michael Jordan.

Paul George.

NBA TV caught up with Miller Thursday before the 2023 NBA Draft and asked the rising NBA rookie about his bold statement that led many fans to disagree.

“I grew up watching Paul George, it was never LeBron. I never knocked LeBron, LeBron is definitely the best player in the league,” Miller said. “But I’m a Paul George fan, so of course, I thought I made it clear that my GOAT was Paul George.

“But just to make it clear, my GOAT is Paul George.”

Miller said that the eight-time All-Star George has been a big influence on his game.

“I love how he takes pride on the defensive side,” Miller said. “I think that’s one of the things I kind of took pride in [playing] college basketball, as far as making all the winning plays, taking charges … willing to give my body up to make the right play to try to win ball games.”

Flash back to Wednesday, and that sounds like exactly what Miller said the first time around.

“I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball. My GOAT of basketball is Paul George,” Miller told reporters at the NBA Draft media conference.

The Charlotte Hornets drafted Miller with the No. 2 pick in the draft. Meanwhile, fans were still roasting him for his George-as-GOAT remarks.
