Monday’s NBA matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves featured a halftime show that can only be described as out of the box, with two fans sharing an extremely intimate moment for the world to see.
The halftime show featured a wedding between two Mavericks fans that was certainly far from typical, with 20,000 fans in attendance at the American Airlines Center. It’s typically wedding proposals that happen during halftime of sporting events, but Monday’s wedding between these two Mavericks fans was certainly a sight to see.
In a video shared by Bleacher Report on Twitter, the bride was introduced similarly to how players typically are before an NBA game.
“From Central Arkansas starting at the bride position, please welcome Ellyn Payet.”

As the two completed their marriage ceremony, the couple received a thunderous ovation as the groom was told to kiss the bride.
“By the power invested in me, it is my delight to declare you husband and wife. Reed, you may kiss the bride,” said wedding officiant and Mavericks play-by-play announcer Mark Followill as fans in attendance cheered.
This is certainly not everyone’s ideal wedding, and many offered a number of different opinions on the atypical wedding on Monday night.

Hopefully the special day for this couple wasn’t ruined too much by the Mavericks’performance on the court on Monday night. Despite nearly erasing an 18-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, Dallas ultimately went on to lose to Minnesota, 124-121.
