The WNBA Draft on Monday night featured no surprises at the top of the draft, as the Indiana Fever selected Iowa star Caitlin Clark with the first overall pick. And moments later, she was welcomed to the city by her new in-town NBA team, the Indiana Pacers.

Several members of the team, including Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, Jarace Walker, Aaron Nesmith, Obi Toppin, and Ben Sheppard, all had detailed message to express their excitement for Clark to be playing in Indiana.

“What’s up, Caitlin? Welcome to Indy,” said Haliburton. “Welcome to the squad, so excited to have you here. So excited to watch you and your growth and see you get better. I’m just excited to have you in Indy alongside so yeah, go Fever!”

“Caitlin, what’s going on? Welcome to Indy,” said Turner. “Excited to have you on board. Looking forward to a hell of a season.

“Caitlin, what it do?! Congratulations, number one pick,” said Walker. “I already know what’s poppin’ Welcome to the city, let’s get it.”

“Caitlin, what’s up? Just wanted to welcome you to Indy,” said Nesmith. “So glad to have you, can’t wait to watch you play.”

“What’s poppin’ Caitlin? Me and Shep here,” said Toppin. “Just wanted to say congratulations on being the number one pick to, obviously Indiana. Just wanted to say super excited to see you play. Can’t wait for you to get here.”

“Two big fans here,” said Sheppard. Excited to watch you ball out, so go Fever!”

It’s pretty great to see the Pacers players embracing Clark with open arms. With the Fever selecting Clark, it should bring eyes to basketball in Indianapolis as a whole, which can only be a good thing for the Pacers as well.
