Sometimes no context is all the context you need. However, if you’re Jalen Brunson and you have access to a Twitter account, some context is very much appreciated.

In a simple Tweet on Monday, the New York Knicks point guard tweeted out three words:

“Bro no way.”

No big deal, right? Well sure, but it’s the Internet. The replies came in waves with trade speculations for Jalen Brunson, NBA All-Star possibilities … and even a response saying we should expect him back with the Dallas Mavericks?

It wasn’t anything like that though. Brunson reminded himself that there’s a Wawa Convenience Store located in Orlando, Florida.

He’s in town as the Knicks face the Magic tomorrow evening.

Brunson admitted he was going to let the troll job stew for a bit, but got a little freaked out knowing people would make up their own stories.

Which is fair, because we did.

The All-Star speculation makes sense with TNT’s Charles Barkley, and others, saying they were shocked Brunson wasn’t selected to the team, but don’t blame us for creating storylines in our heads. Especially after the Kyrie Irving saga.

After Irving made it very clear he wanted to leave the Brooklyn Nets and be traded, his wish was granted, sending the eight-time All-Star to the Dallas Mavericks. The massive deal included Spencer DinwiddieDorian Finney-Smith, a first-round as well as multiple second-round picks in return for Irving and Markieff Morris.

You got to give Brunson props though as he proved the power of social media.
