Kevin Durant is no stranger to testy interactions with Draymond Green after the two played together for several years with the Golden State Warriors, but even he avoided getting outright punched by his former teammate during practice, unlike Jordan Poole.

This week, Durant –who is still with the Brooklyn Nets after a tumultuous offseason – was asked to compare the drama between Green and Poole to a disagreement he had with Green during their time in Golden State together. According to Durant, there’s no real comparison.

In fact, Durant told ESPN that he’s never seen anything like Green punching Poole throughout his entire time in the NBA.

“That’s not the same situation,” Durant said. “Somebody got punched in the face … It’s no comparison to that. It was just some words that being — I heard people say that that happens a lot in the NBA. I had never seen nothing like that before. But what me and Draymond did a few years back, that s— happens all the time. So it’s easy to get through something like that, but I don’t know what this situation is like.”

Green has since apologized, but we’ll have to see how the Warriors bounce back from this preseason distraction this year.
