Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant delivered the biggest news of the offseason last week when he requested a trade from the team, and it looks like the megastar has one particular destination in mind.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Durant’s ideal trade destination would be the Phoenix Suns, where he would play alongside Suns stars Chris Paul and Devin Booker.

“Kevin Durant, that’s his preferred destination. The Phoenix Suns, from everything I’ve been told, are his No. 1, preferred destination” Charania said during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. “There’s a desire to go play with Devin Booker, to go play with Chris Paul.”

Previously, both the Suns and the Miami Heat were reported to be Durant’s preferred trade destinations, but it seems that Phoenix has now separated from the pack.

Of course, his trade destination won’t all be Durant’s decision – or even mostly his decision. Ultimately, the Nets will have to ensure a quality return for the megastar.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Brooklyn will be seeking the best possible deal which they expect to include “a historic return on players and draft picks.” It remains to be seen whether or not the Suns can put together a package to land Durant.

With four years remaining on his contract, Durant is one of the most valuable assets ever to hit the trade market in NBA history. The Nets will undoubtedly seek a massive return.
