The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t seem to get anything going in Monday night’s game, resulting in a lopsided 138-94 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Former MVP Joel Embiid recorded a triple-double for the Sixers, with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the 44-point loss is tied for the fourth worst in Lakers franchise history.

The biggest loss in Lakers history was a 49-point loss to the Dallas Mavericks in January of 2017.

Lakers forward LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time minutes-played leader in the second quarter of the loss.

The Lakers were without multiple players due to injuries, including Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Gabe Vincent.

Fans online had a lot to say about the blowout.

One fan said, “That’s unacceptable, regardless of who is or isn’t in the lineup. That is a reflection of the players as well as the coaching staff. Everyone needs to take their hands out of their pockets, and take a look at themselves in the mirror.”

Another suggested the Lakers make a coaching change, saying, “They need to fire Ham.”

Another fan agreed, posting in the late stages of the game, “The Lakers are down by 43 points. A coaching problem has never been more evident than now.”

One fan identified what they perceive to be the problem, saying, “It’s pretty obvious that the Lakers don’t care about the regular season”
