The entertainment world and fans were shocked to hear the news about Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, who reportedly had a medical emergency Thursday.
The star was filming a new movie in Atlanta when the emergency took place. One of Foxx’s daughters released a statement regarding her father’s health.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the message read.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement continued. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Reports indicate Foxx may have suffered a stroke. Foxx is known as a huge sports fan and when news of his health emergency was announced on social media, many fans, including sports stars, sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ tweet stood out.

Foxx, who is from Texas, is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and was seen at their camp last summer looking forward to the upcoming season.
Foxx said this about his Cowboys fandom last summer “We eat, we breathe, we sleep, we die Cowboys.”
