Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been among the most respected players in the NBA for quite some time. He offered his opinion of reports that the league is launching an investigation into referee Eric Lewis.

The league announced on Saturday that it is investigating Lewis after a fan on Twitter made the accusation earlier this week that Lewis had a burner account where he made a number of revealing posts.

Fans on social media have been critical of Lewis in the past, even saying he has been biased toward different players and teams. The majority of the tweets from this burner account are shown defending himself from this criticism.

Fans took to social media to blast Lewis, and the NBA eventually jumped in to launch an investigation towards the 19-year NBA official on Friday.

James took notice of the investigation and is seemingly shocked that Lewis is being accused of this. He took to social media to offer his surprise at this news.

“This Eric Lewis **** true???” tweeted James.

Lewis was famously involved in a controversial call in a matchup earlier this season between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, where James was seemingly fouled on a game-winning shot that was not called.

James was frustrated about the no-call days after it happened, and the NBA eventually acknowledged that this was indeed a missed call after reviewing the play after the fact.

There are missed calls all the time, so at the time nobody thought much of it. However, it certainly looks back looking back for Lewis, especially since one of the five people his burner account is following is his wife, who is seemingly a big Celtics fan.
