The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the NBA’s most legendary franchises.
Many players throughout the history of the league have leaped at an opportunity to don the Forum Blue and Gold to represent the Lakers on the sport’s biggest state.
Former Lakers player Danny Green, however, already had that experience, and he recently passed on an opportunity to rejoin the Lakers after the Houston Rockets bought out his contract.
Green revealed his decision on his Inside the Green Room podcast.

“I don’t think they had the opportunity or the same opportunity with all the wings they brought in and all the people they brought in,” Green explained. “I don’t think they were able to say you’ll be in a good opportunity to be on the floor and that we’re for sure going to make the playoffs. So it was very up in the air, and it’s a very urgent time for them. They have to win now, and they have a lot of pressure doing that in a short amount of time.”
Green tore his ACL last spring in the playoffs. He recently turned 35, and it’s unclear what he could have offered the Lakers if he chose to return to the team. Only time will tell how that affects the Lakers’ championship hopes.
