It seemed like everyone in the city of Philadelphia was so preoccupied on someone who wasn’t even playing that the 76ers forgot there was a game going on. Before the game against the Brooklyn Nets, Sixers fans booed Ben Simmons everywhere, which given the calamity of the past year, they may have felt justified in doing that. That’s all well and good but it’s way more effective when the team wins and the Sixers didn’t get the message.

With Simmons in street clothes, he wound up getting the last laugh as the Nets won big. Very big. Carrying a big lead throughout the entire game, the Nets took the win by a score of 129-100.

A catalyst for the Nets’ offensive explosion was due to one of the other players the Sixers traded to the Nets and that was Seth Curry. Curry went for 24 points in just 27 minutes of play. James Harden, on the other hand, had his worst game since joining Philly. Going 3 for 17, Harden just scraped into the double digits with 11 points.

Those watching had a variety of reactions. It was certainly a night to forget for the 76ers, especially given that these two teams could realistically meet again in the playoffs.
