The New York Knicks have been the NBA’s biggest surprise this season, but they had a very rough start to their game on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets outscored the Knicks 34-12 in the first quarter, which is certainly eye-opening. But what was particularly incredible about the quarter: Nikola Jokic doubled up the Knicks in the quarter, outscoring them 24-12.

This is yet another example of why Jokic will win this season’s NBA MVP award.

At halftime, the Nuggets lead the Knicks 64-43. Jokic has 26 points in 18 minutes, going 9-of-10 from the field and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe. He also has eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal.
