Tyrese Haliburton, one of the NBA’s breakout stars this season, left the Indiana Pacers’ game Monday night after a scary-looking incident.
As the point guard drove to the basket in the second quarter against the Boston Celtics, he tried to stop, but his right foot slipped. Haliburton landed in a semi-split position and immediately rolled over in pain.
He had to be carried to the locker room.

The Pacers quickly issued a statement saying Haliburton had suffered a left hamstring strain and would not return to Monday night’s game.
Injury Update: Tyrese Haliburton (left hamstring strain) will not return to tonight's game.

Now the obvious question: How much time will Haliburton miss? Injuries such as this one are typically more fully assessed the following day after the initial swelling subsides.
Haliburton, 23, has been one of the most entertaining, and dominant, players this season. He came into the night averaging 24.2 points per game and leading the NBA in assists (12.7 per game).
Fans shared their concern on X/Twitter.
Oh man looking at that video it could have been so much worse https://t.co/I0lVzO48ZG

Hoping this is a low grade hamstring strain. Low grade strains result in average time lost of ~13 days (5 games). Average time lost for an in-season G2 strain jumps to ~30 days (10 games). https://t.co/lWayCLpw56

Damn. Not Tyrese Halliburton, that's been my young guy all season, he's been playing at a hall of fame level 🤦🏾♂️

Only a strain is the best new possible, considering how bad it looked. https://t.co/iSryiKZ1RA

I hope that’s like a grade 2 or something and not worse. That looked really violent. https://t.co/kiyHth6U9G

Hoping it’s just a grade 1 sprain. Why tf did this have to happen a month before All-Star weekend too. https://t.co/Be614JbV7X
