Shaquille O’Neal is almost known as much for his trash talk off the court as he was his dominating play on the court.
O’Neal hasn’t blunted his tough talk in his retirement, either. And he spares no fellow ball player—as Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant recently found out the hard way.
O’Neal traditionally saves his harshest trash talk for the game’s fellow big men. Former NBA center Dwight Howard, who played on O’Neal’s former teams in the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic, has consistently been one of Shaq’s most consistent targets.
O’Neal took aim at Howard once again this week, blasting the center over his losing record in Taiwan.
“They (Dwight Howard’s team) have a losing record,” said O’Neal told The Big Podcast. “Somebody sent me they have a losing record. I ain’t losing to nobody in Taiwan… how about that? How do you have a losing record in Taiwan? Come on now. You can’t have no losing record in Taiwan.”
Howard recently signed with the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League in Taiwan. The Leopards are currently mired in a 3-11 season, which currently ranks last in the league. Barring a drastic turnaround, the Leopards will miss the playoffs.
