Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors received a mixed bag-like update on the star’s injury.

On February 5, Shams Charania reported that the two-time NBA MVP would miss several weeks with a knee injury. Two-plus weeks later, the status for Curry is relatively unchanged. According to the team, Curry recently underwent reevaluation. He’s made good progress, said the team, but still is about a week away from another re-evaluation.

“Stephen Curry, who has missed the last five games due to injury, was recently re-evaluated,” the Warriors tweeted. “The re-evaluation indicated that Stephen is making good progress. He has started various individual on-court workouts and will be re-evaluated in one week.”

The Warriors hold the ninth seed in the NBA’s Western Conference currently. Golden State is 11.5 games back of conference-leading Denver and 3.5 games back of surprising Sacramento in the Pacific Division. They could sure use Steph Curry and especially at his max.

Curry has been one of the best players in the sport since 2015. In that time, he’s won two NBA MVPs and four NBA Championships. Curry was named NBA Finals MVP in 2022 after his Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics.

In 38 games played this season, he’s averaged 29.4 points, 6.4 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the 3-point arc. That, amazingly, is just 0.1 percent off his career mark of 42.8 percent.
