Jordan Haber will not be picked in the 2023 NBA Draft Thursday night.

But the social media influencer will always be able to say he was one of the select group eligible for the draft.

Haber, 21, has gone viral this week as the story spreads about how the law student entered the NBA Draft pool, despite having no high school or college basketball experience.

“I am now Jordan Haber, member of the 2023 NBA draft class, uh, soon to be undrafted class,” Haber said in a recent Tik Tok post that has millions of views.

He did nothing illegal or deceptive to make himself eligible, either. He merely dug through hundreds of pages in the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement and found a loophole.

After the league sent him a bunch of official paperwork to complete, he thinks officials might be miffed he found that loophole.

“I think they’re like, ‘Who is this kid? Why did he find the loophole?'” Haber said on Tik Tok.

Haber might not be alone in having “draft imposter” status. The Los Angeles Times reported that of the nearly 300 people in this year’s draft pool, 18 are listed as “Unknown Individuals.”

A Miami Heat fan, Haber is a 2023 University of Florida graduate and is headed for Cardozo School of Law in New York. For now, he’s enjoying his viral fame. He is in New York City this week to attend the draft, documenting the entire experience on social media. He says a staff member of the Barclays Center — site of the draft — sent him an invitation to attend.

While he obviously doesn’t expect to be drafted, Haber hopes to at least meet NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

“The worst that happens is you get ignored. … the best that happens … your life changes,” Haber said recently on his YouTube channel.
