The college football season is beginning with a bang as the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes host the No. 5 Notre Fighting Irish on Saturday night in primetime, and it looks like the trash talk has already begun between two of the programs’ former star quarterbacks.

It all started when former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire tagged former Ohio State quarterbacks J.T. Barrett, Cardale Jones and Braxton Miller in a Tweet with some pregame trash talk.

“ino yall worried about Saturday! But I promise y’all can still make it to the playoffs after this whoopin!” Zaire’s Tweet said on Tuesday morning.

Jones wasted no time in responding, and he upped the stakes a little bit, suggesting the two make a bet on the game.

“Talk is cheap, how much we putting on the game? Spread 17.5, I’ll give you 20 though,” Jones said, referencing the current betting line that has Ohio State as a 17.5-point favorite over the Irish.

Zaire responded back with “Whatever u want it to be,” but Jones got the final word with a hilarious bit of trash talk.

“Bro I get it; you went to ND and had an amazing career there! Much respect but you know we about to light y’all up like a Christmas tree!” Jones said in the Tweet. “But I get it, you gotta have fake hype and hopes because that’s your alumni, you know what it is deep down.”

With this pregame trash talk, gameday can’t get here soon enough.
