Clemson Tigers softball coach John Rittman celebrated a milestone victory on Sunday.

Rittman earned his 900th collegiate win as a coach and his 150th win at the helm of the Tigers. Clemson beat Virginia Tech to snap a three-game losing streak and more importantly, net the significant achievement for the well-accomplished Rittman.

“A spectacular milestone for Coach Rittman,” the Clemson softball account tweeted.

Many in and around the Clemson Tigers family reacted to the milestone victory.

Congratulations to @rittmanjohn on this outstanding accomplishment! Grateful to have you at #Clemson!” tweeted Clemson University President, Jim Clements.

“A legend in every way! Congrats to Coach Rittman,” Clemson softball SID Valerie Johnson tweeted. “Privileged to get to work alongside and tell the story of him and the student-athletes of this program.”

 

“The [GOAT]  for many more reasons than winning 900 ballgames, @rittmanjohn is an amazing human,” Clemson Executive Senior Associate AD / Student-Athlete Services and Performance Natalie Gonzalez Honnen tweeted. “Many more to come with @clemsonsoftball.”

“Y’all didn’t have to drop the hardest edit of the year,” said Rittman’s son, Jake, in reference to the edit Clemson’s softball account tweeted.

“Congrats Coach Rittman! I can’t wait to learn from one of the best,” tweeted Clemson softball commit, Taylor Pipkins. “Go Tigers.”

The Tigers are 45-8 after their win over Virginia Tech. In the absolutely loaded ACC, they sport the best overall record, but the fourth-best record in conference play as of now.
