It’s been March for a couple weeks but now that it’s Selection Sunday, it really feels like March.
The NCAA Men’s Tournament bracket has been revealed and it’s one of the more competitive tournaments in years. This year’s tournament was difficult to predict and while there isn’t exactly a runaway favorite, it’s resulted in many teams with a shot at being a contender.
Many were watching for the particulars of the bracket. The No. 1 seeds (Gonzaga, Kansas, Arizona, and Baylor), the 5/12 matchups (UConn/New Mexico State, Iowa/Richmond, Houston/UAB, and Saint Mary’s/Wyoming/Indiana), the first four in (Wyoming, Indiana, Notre Dame, Rutgers), and the first four out (Dayton, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas A&M).
Many had thoughts on a variety of topics. A team like Texas A&M (23-12) being excluded while a team like Michigan (17-14) made the tournament was rather notable.
Resume Comparison:
Duke (2-seed):
NET – 13
KenPom – 12
SOS – 67
Q1 Wins – 6
Q2-4 Losses – 4Tennessee (3-seed):
NET – 8
KenPom – 7
SOS – 4
Q1 Wins – 11
Q2-4 Losses – 0This is a travesty by the selection committee.#SelectionSunday

Michigan in and no play-in? Rididculous. Have to change this. They should at least be playing their way in. Wright State and Bryant should not be in a play-in, having already automatically qualified. Play-ins should be exclusively for bubble teams. #SelectionSunday

Rutgers and Michigan shouldn’t be in.
BiG 10 is so overrated. Half will be out in the first round #SelectionSunday

SMU – despite a 23-8 record – got left out of the Field of 68, and has been slotted as "Replacement Team #3" in this year's tournament.
They're NIT bound, and that is a shame. #NCAATournament #SelectionSunday pic.twitter.com/xewjkLh711
