To many, Georgia-Oregon was going to be the college football game of the day on Saturday, but it turned out to be a total blowout.

No. 3 Georgia walloped No. 11 (certainly not No. 11 after this game) Oregon 49-3 in Atlanta.

From the start, the Dawgs steamrolled the Ducks and took a 28-3 lead into halftime, behind quarterback Stetson Bennett.

Bennett was fantastic, completing 25-of-31 passes for a career-high 368 yards (11.9 AVG), two touchdowns, and no interceptions.

If Bennett keeps this play up, his hat might be thrown into the Heisman conversation. Last season, he won a national title and was the offensive MVP for Georgia in the national title game, so perhaps he’ll keep adding to his accolades.

Meanwhile, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix had a very rough performance after transferring from Auburn, making him 0-4 in his career vs Georgia.

Georgia had 571 total yards on offense, compared to 313 for Oregon. The Bulldogs also won the turnover battle 2-0.

It was a very impressive win by Georgia that shows they’re again one of the teams to beat. As for Oregon, it’s a very disappointing way to start the season, and it shows that they still have a long way to go to catch up to the top teams in college football.
