South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer has never been afraid of the social media limelight, and he turned it up a notch on Tuesday with a viral video posted to the team’s Twitter account ahead of Beamer’s afternoon appearance at SEC Media Days.
In the video, Beamer walked to the Gamecocks’ team meeting room in a suit before having his face toweled off, putting on a backward hat and some sunglasses, and then setting off sparklers while lip-synching to “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy.

Beamer is the son of legendary Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer. He took over as South Carolina‘s head coach ahead of the 2021 season and led the Gamecocks to a 7-6 record in his first season as a head coach.
The video is certainly not uncharacteristic for Beamer, who has one of the top social media presences of any coach in all of college football.
Naturally, the video was the talk of the college football world on Tuesday afternoon as Beamer’s lighthearted antics received praise.

Oh sure Shane can have pyrotechnics in the football facility but I can't play Electric Six in the halls at Green Quad without "getting screamed at by the RA" https://t.co/bzboOEd7NP

This certainly isn’t the first time that Beamer has made waves on social media. In December, the South Carolina head coach embraced a mayonnaise shower after his Gamecocks beat the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. A few months before that, he went viral with some extremely candid comments about how Georgia was able to dominate his team in the trenches.
