Oklahoma softball picked up a huge win over 6th-ranked Florida State on Tuesday night in what was the highest-ranked regular season matchup in Norman since 2007. While that was the biggest story from Tuesday, as the Sooners prevailed for a 5-4 victory, there was a massive home run that sent the softball world into a frenzy.

Though it came in a losing effort, sophomore catcher Katie Dack brought the house down with a towering home run in the top of the fourth inning. The three-run moonshot from Dack propped the ‘Noles up 4-3 at the time of the dinger.

“TURN ME UP KATIE DACK!!!!!! A THREE-RUN MOONSHOT GIVES THE NOLES THE LEAD,” the FSU Softball Twitter account exclaimed.

Oklahoma rallied back for two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-4 lead, one it would never relinquish. That was thanks to sophomore sensation Jorday Bahl, who struck out six ‘Noles in three innings of work, allowing just one hit.

Video of Dack’s homer went viral on social media and drew awe from fans in the softball world.

One fan joked that the largely pro-Oklahoma crowd didn’t even react to Dack’s three-run home run.

That same fan, who was in attendance at the game in Norman, made sure to point out that she was glad that Katie Dack is on their side.

Another FSU alumni raved over Dack’s home run.
