The college basketball world is apparently set to receive a blast from the past. After an injury-plagued professional career in the NBA and overseas, Greg Oden is returning to his college home in Columbus, Ohio. The big man is reportedly heading back to Ohio State, only this time it will be as a student manager.
The #scoops just keep coming, folks: MULTIPLE SAUCES tell me Greg Oden will join OSU bball team as a "manager" while he finishes his degree.

He's essentially just going to practice w/ the team and dunk all over OSU bigs. But still – he's technically joining the manager fraternity.

In addition to being a college basketball writer, Titus was also a teammate of Oden’s at Ohio State and his tweets were confirmed by Eleven Warriors.
Oden was last seen in the Chinese Basketball Association, but left the league after his contract expired when his team was eliminated from the playoffs in February. There was some speculation the former No. 1 pick might attempt an NBA comeback, but it was not be.
What could be the NBA’s loss is certainly the Ohio State manager’s gain. Titus also had some insider information on whether on not Oden would serve as a ringer in the squad’s student manager basketball games that are now fairly regular occurrences.

@urth42 "Depends how I feel" = he's only going to play when he feels good = the games he does play in, he'll be out for blood.
Yikes.

However, the manager’s might not need Oden’s help. It appears they did quite well without him last season.

Oden, who left for the draft after his freshman season, will be working towards finishing his degree in addition to his managerial duties.
