Malik Zaire Former Notre Dame QB Malik Zaire is heading to Florida to play in the SEC.

With a few days to go before the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to open the 2022 college football season, it looks like the trash talk is already in full swing courtesy of former Irish star quarterback Malik Zaire.

After a brief Twitter beef with former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, Zaire took to Twitter to talk a little trash about the Buckeyes.

“Ohio state fans get so hype but y’all wasn’t even the best team in Ohio last year! Lol CINCY WAS,” Zaire said.

Zaire, of course, is referring to the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincinnati finished the season undefeated and became the first-ever Group of Five team to make the College Football Playoff before falling 27-6 to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the semifinal.

But Zaire didn’t stop there. He had several more comments about this Ohio State team.

“All the blah blah is nice…but if CJ Stroud doesn’t play perfect (which I think he’s a top draft pick fasho)…what chance does Ohio state really have? We don’t need to play perfect to win cause we have a better front 7 and OFFENSIVE LINE! FACTS!” Zaire said in one Tweet.

Zaire pointed out that while Ohio State does have plenty of talent at the skill positions, he believes that Notre Dame has the advantage on the line in the trenches.

“Listen if this Saturday 9/3 was a 7on7 competition then of course Ohio state is an easy choice… but until I hear something bout y’all actually being able to shed blocks and tackle or hold up front against a challenge! What am I lying about? we got better matchups,” Zaire said in his Tweet.

The Irish will have a chance to back up Zaire’s comments against the Buckeyes on Saturday.
