The Oklahoma Sooners softball team is a juggernaut. You probably don’t need anybody to tell you that at this point if you follow the sport. The Sooners have been on a tear yet again in 2023 and they destroyed another team in a Saturday doubleheader.
Oklahoma soundly defeated Big XII foe Iowa State. The Sooners routed the Cyclones 10-0 in the first leg of the doubleheader and then drubbed them 13-3 in the second leg. That’s good for an aggregate of an absurd 23-3. In run-rule fashion, no less.

Prior to the final out, the Sooners pointed out an insane fact. With the win, Oklahoma has already posted 18 run-rule victories this season.

That’s a crazy number and another statistic furthers its insanity. According to SoonerStats.com, Oklahoma’s 18 run-rule victories this season are already the eighth-most since 2003. Furthermore, according to the database, they’ve had run-rule wins in 58.1 percent of their games.
Naturally, many were impressed by the powerful display by the Oklahoma softball team.
“Absolute domination!” wrote one fan.

Adam Sparks tweeted a GIF that represented the situation, for sure.

“Good God are they gonna do it again?” asked a fan. Yeah, probably to be honest.

And Bob Przybylo already has his mind on what’s next: Oklahoma will host rival 10th-ranked Texas to the state for three huge games. They, of course, met in last year’s Women’s College World Series.
#Sooners do their part.
