college baseball blowout New Orleans Mississippi Valley State.

The New Orleans Privateers faced off against Mississippi Valley State in a three-game series this weekend. The first of those games ended in a major controversy.

The Privateers made it a real point to make sure that there was no doubt who the better team is in the second game on Saturday.

Friday’s game was very much muddled due to a number of egregious errors by the home plate umpire toward the end of the game.

New Orleans had a 7-3 lead on Friday in the top of the ninth trying to close the game out. Mississippi Valley State’s final batter was called for two extremely horrible strike calls on pitches that were very clearly not strikes to end the game.

Saturday’s game went extremely differently, with New Orleans absolutely blowing the doors off Mississippi Valley State in a 35-3 beatdown.

They quickly jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the second inning and proceeded to score 16 runs in the third inning to for all intensive purposed end the game. The game was officially put to rest after the ten-rule mercy rule was enforced after the seventh inning.

This insane offensive performance from New Orleans broke the program record for the most runs in a single game. Their 28 hits also tied the program record.

This ridiculous performance caught the attention of college baseball fans, with many in disbelief of the final score in this game.

A final score of 35-3 would even be a huge blowout in a football game. In a baseball game, it borders an all-time awful loss for Mississippi Valley State.
