While the ESPN broadcast of LSU’s win over Texas A&M Thursday night was filled with speculation about Houston coach Tom Herman becoming the school’s head coach, the Tigers’ players made it very clear they’re quite happy with interim coach Ed Orgeron.
Following LSU’s 54-39 win, players in the locker room broke out in a “Keep Coach O” chant, and senior linebacker Duke Riley posted video of that:

Other key players, including safety Jamal Adams, also made their feelings on keeping Orgeron clear to the media:

Orgeron has led LSU to a 5-2 record since taking over in the wake of Les Miles’ firing, with his only losses to Alabama and Florida. He’s also made it very clear that LSU is a dream job for him, and the team certainly seems to be playing hard for him. Still, LSU administration seems to be pursuing the likes of Herman and Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher. We’ll see how it works out, but Tigers’ players have made it pretty clear that they believe in Coach O, and many fans do as well. The chances of keeping him don’t seem all that high right now, but if it ends up that way, that will certainly make some players happy.
