Nick Bosa is now the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history after the San Francisco 49ers inked a long-term deal with their star defensive lineman. Bosa’s new contract ends his holdout and sets the stage for Week 1. He will join the 49ers for their opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is expected to be a hard-hitting affair.

It’s safe to say that the 49ers are happy that Bosa will join them in the Steel City. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year posted on his Instagram after the news broke. His post served as confirmation of the deal, featuring a picture of him on the field. “Shall we,” Bosa captioned the post.

After that, replies poured out. Several of them came from his teammates and fellow 49er stars.

“171 holy Toledo Batman,” George Kittle said.

“Yessssirrrrr,” Deebo Samuel replied.

“Yes we shall,” All-Pro Trent Williams said, posting several fire emojis. “Let’s goooo.”

“Turn me up!!!!” fullback Kyle Juszczyk said.

“Lesssss goooo,” fellow lineman Arik Armstead said.

To paint a picture of how valuable Nick Bosa is to the 49ers?

As ESPN Stats & Info posted shortly after the news broke, “Nick Bosa is 1 of 5 players to have multiple 15-sack seasons in a player’s first 4 years in the league since individual sacks became official in 1982. Bosa is the only player in 49ers history to have multiple 15-sack seasons.”
