Last week, Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald made waves in the NFL world when video surfaced of the Rams’ star swinging a helmet at Cincinnati Bengals players after a fight broke out between the two teams at a joint practice.
On Wednesday, Donald was asked about the shocking incident and he was rather dismissive, saying “it was just practice” before revealing that he didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
Regarding the helmet incident at #Rams #Bengals joint practice last week, Aaron Donald told me: "It was just a practice. It was football. I don't really wanna go back to nothing negative that happened & talk about something that happened in a practice. My main focus is Buffalo."

“It was just a practice,” Donald told Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press. “It was football. I don’t really wanna go back to nothing negative that happened and talk about something that happened in a practice. My main focus is Buffalo.”
Since the incident happened during practice and not during a game, the NFL does not have jurisdiction to punish Donald for the events. However, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was punished extensively did the same thing to former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph during a game back in 2019.
While the Rams have said they will deal with Donald’s punishment accordingly, it’s becoming more and more clear that the star player is unlikely to see any sort of real punishment for his actions, much less any sort of suspension.
